Cross-Cultural Engagement with University of Southern Queensland Students

The British College Sustainability Unit Hosts Cross-Cultural Engagement with University of Southern Queensland Students

On November 29, 2024, The British College (TBC) Sustainability Unit welcomed students from the University of Southern Queensland (USQ) alongside participants from TBC’s BBA: Innovate for Impact program for an enriching cross-cultural exchange.

This interactive event allowed students from both institutions to engage in meaningful dialogue, sharing insights on social green enterprises, cultural practices, student lifestyles, and more. The dynamic interaction provided a platform for fostering mutual understanding and exploring global sustainability perspectives.

The event was facilitated by Ms. Sunita Basnet, Head of Sustainability and Senior Faculty at TBC, alongside Dr. Anup Shrestha, Head of the School of Business at USQ.

Adding significant value to the program, Mr. Edward, Director of the UN Global Compact Network Philippines, addressed the gathering. He highlighted the key priority areas of the UN Global Compact (UNGCN) and emphasized the transformative potential of integrating academic institutions, industries, and UNGCN members to advance sustainability goals.

The event concluded with words of appreciation from TBC's Deputy Principal, Dr. Patrick McCrudden, and Director of Operations, Mr. Mahendra Kandel. Their closing remarks celebrated the collaborative spirit of the initiative and reaffirmed TBC’s commitment to fostering sustainability through education and partnerships.

This engagement underscores TBC's active role in promoting sustainability education and building global networks for impactful learning and collaboration.
