Sustainability Literacy Course - A Transformative Success

The Sustainability Unit at The British College in collaboration with Global Compact Network Nepal (as knowledge partner) successfully concluded its two-week Sustainability Literacy Course held from 4th to 15th August 2024. The course brought together a diverse group of nearly 60 regular participants out of 75 registrants, representing academia, industry, development partners, and civil society.

Over two weeks, 60 dedicated participants (out of 70 registered) —a dynamic mix of students, faculty, and industry professionals joined us every morning. Guided by 12 distinguished resource persons, including global experts and local pioneers, participants delved into interactive lectures, real-world case workshops, from global to Nepal’s IFI project.

With the goal of balancing profit, people, and planet, the curriculum covered:
●    Foundational sustainability and climate science,
●    Leading frameworks like ESG, Triple Bottom Line, Doughnut Economics, and SDGs,
●    Sustainable finance and supply chain practices,
●    Tools for assessing social and environmental impact,
●    Strategic leadership through actionable roadmaps for sustainable initiatives

We are proud that the course created a multi-sector learning community, demonstrating the growing interest and commitment in Nepal towards integrating sustainability in education, business, and society.

Big thanks to all our resource persons, to Global Compact Nepal for their support, and to every participant whose passion made this journey meaningful. Here's to inspiring leaders who champion sustainable business futures. Together, we take a step closer towards greening education and building a sustainable future.
