Dr Hari Risal
Introduction
Dr Hari Risal is an Assistant Professor at Kathmandu University (KU) and a PhD in Green and Sustainable Finance from the Strathclyde University, the United Kingdom with John Anderson Research Award. Mr. Risal holds M.Phil. from KU, Masters in Business from TU, FDP from IIM, Ahmedabad. Mr. Risal is a seasoned researcher and he has published a dozen of research articles in international journals. His recent research includes ‘ Worldwide Demand of Green Bonds’, ‘Drivers of Greenness Demand’ and ‘What motivates Impact Reporting?’ Mr. Risal has been working in the education industry for almost two decades. He has served as the research degree coordinator at KU School of Management, Head of Undergraduate programs such as BBA Honors and Emphasis, Director of International MBA program at Global College International and Coordinator of MBA programs at Ace Institute of Management. Mr. Risal also serves as the editorial board member to a prestigious international journal ‘SN Business and Economics’ and regularly reviews for ‘Journal of Sustainable Finance and Investment’.
Alongside research and teaching, consulting and development are Mr. Risal’s interests. Recently, he provided research support for Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) Transmissions' sustainability strategy with PI Professor Iain Black, also provided research support to the Scottish Government’s Investor Panel in attracting global capital to accomplish the net zero target. Currently, he is working on ‘Scotland Beyond Net Zero’ to develop sustainable financing and investment strategies to Scotland.
In Nepal, he has provided trainings to senior officials of various institutions such as Nepal Telecommunication (NTC), Employee Provident Fund (EPF), Buddha Airlines, Sipradi, and different academic institutions. He also served as a consultant in preparing a business development plan (BDP) and Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Mutual Undertaking between NRNs and the Agriculture Authority (MUNAA) of Nepal. Served as a finance consultant to the Nepal Agribusiness Innovation Center (NABIC) and offered insights/strategy into Dairy and meat products in the country, also served as a consultant to Choice Humanitarian Nepal in establishing micro-grant programs for farmers and agro entrepreneurs.
Contributed as a project leader in conducting research for the National Cooperative Federation of Nepal in 2021 for the impact assessment in Province 1 & 2.
