Mr Pankaj Kumar

Mr. Kumar is a seasoned Climate Change and Renewable Energy professional with over two decades of experience in the sector. Since 2001, He has been actively involved in developing, implementing, and advocating for sustainable energy solutions and climate-resilient strategies. His work spans policy engagement, stakeholder collaboration, and project management, focusing on mitigating climate impacts and promoting clean energy transitions. He brings a wealth of expertise in working with development partners (DPs), International Organizations (IOs), including governments, industries, schools and communities, to drive impactful and sustainable outcomes.

He was engaged with some of the historic Rural, Renewable Energy and climate change developments in Nepal’s far-flung landscape over the last 23 years. For about one and half decade, Pankaj worked as Solar PV cum Renewable Energy Expert in executing large-scale infrastructure projects, Solar PV, hydropower, ICS which presented varied challenges. He jointly worked with government RE executing agency, Alternative Energy Promotion Center (AEPC), Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and various development partners i.e. EU, ADB, UNDP, UNICEF, GIZ, SNV, FCDO/DFID and NRREP. As Solar PV Expert, he assisted the Alternative Energy Promotion Center (AEPC) to modernize and reform the Solar PV development, MHP as Enterprises model, renewable energy financing, management & implementation in far-flung location of Nepal.
