Ms Florence Nagawa

Introduction

Florence Nagawa is an experienced professional in the Global Sustainable Value Chains, with over 15 years’ experience of  working with agricultural value chains-like coffee, cocoa, tea, fruits and vegetables, and vanilla; training and facilitating sustainable production and trade involving thousands of smallholder producers linked to agribusinesses-cooperatives and companies in East Africa. She has vast experience in technical capacity building and advising agribusinesses on promoting sustainability production practices and setting up systems that are certifiable to international voluntary sustainability standards, like Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance, and Organic standards for the EU and USDA NOP, which enable access to premium sustainable agriculture commodity markets. Florence has worked as a Consultant with International Organizations like Fair Trade International, Center for Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries (CBI), the International Trade Center (ITC) among others, supporting projects promoting sustainable production and trade. She has a practical understanding of the issues and opportunities in sustainable global coffee value chain; and how SMEs in the coffee value chain can position themselves to penetrate global sustainable coffee markets.    Florence has a Master degree in Business Administration, and Master of Science Degree in Crop Science; and six years’ experience as visiting lecturer at Uganda Martyrs University Nkozi.
