Introduction

Smriti Sharma has over 18 years of experience in the banking and financial institutions. She has been working for Nepal Infrastructure Bank (NIFRA) since its inception, where she primarily engages in resource generation, business development, policy dialogues and interactions with relevant stakeholders for the strengthening of green and resilient infrastructure and development of infrastructure ecosystem. Ms. Sharma, while having worked for other BFIs in different departments, also has experience in the hospitality industry. Ms. Sharma holds Executive Master degree in Business Administration. She is also the recipient of the Australia Awards for its course on Accessing Climate Finance for 2024. Ms. Sharma has been recognized as an exceptional leader and climate champion, underscoring her dedication to advancing sustainable practices in Nepal and has been selected among 120 applications from 29 countries to participate in the International Finance Corporation's (IFC) Green Bond Technical Assistance Program (GB-TAP) Sustainable Finance Leadership Executive Training 2024 in Geneva, Switzerland. 

Ms. Smriti Sharma, the Vice President of Nepal Infrastructure Bank Limited (NIFRA), plays a pivotal role as the coordinator for Nepal's inaugural public Green Bond, known as the "NIFRA Green Energy Bond 6%, 2088/89." This ground-breaking initiative marks a significant milestone in the country's efforts to promote sustainable finance and environmental stewardship.
