Name: Sunita Basnet

Head of the Sustainability Unit/Sr Faculty

Sunita Basnet is an educator and industry professional with over a decade of experience in people management, marketing, business development, and consultancy. Sunita currently serves in the role of Head of Sustainability/Sr Faculty at The British College, where she has been at the forefront of integrating sustainability into higher education. She has established the college's pioneering Sustainability Unit, which aims to become a central hub for fostering green practices and initiatives across the institution and beyond. Sunita has been instrumental in conceptualizing and leading the BBA: Innovate for Impact project, a groundbreaking program that embeds sustainability and social entrepreneurship into the curriculum, equipping students with the tools to drive meaningful change.

Sunita focuses on equipping future business leaders with the skills for sustainable practices, emphasizing education as crucial for responsible leadership. She also leads The British College's involvement in global initiatives like the UN Global Compact and UNESCO Greening Education, positioning the college as a sustainability leader.

Name: Subodh Rupakheti

TBC Incubation Lead

Subodh Rupakheti is a versatile professional who has merged academic excellence with practical experience across multiple fields. He holds a CeDiploma in Open Innovation from Harvard Business School (Online), where he developed expertise in applying innovative strategies to solve complex organizational challenges. Additionally, he earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of the West of England, The British College, graduating with honors and receiving the academic excellence award for his outstanding performance.

Currently, Subodh leads the Department at TBC Incubation Centre, where his leadership has fostered international collaborations and a global perspective on student-led startup initiatives. His role in promoting green startups has been instrumental in driving sustainable entrepreneurship, as he guides students in developing environmentally-conscious business models that align with sustainability goals. Beyond his administrative role, he contributes as a faculty member at The British College, teaching key subjects like business fundamentals, organizational behavior, and people management. As a researcher and advisor, he has also collaborated with Middlesex University, contributing to research on SMEs in Nepal. Subodh’s diverse expertise, especially in nurturing green startups, positions him as a key figure in advancing sustainable business practices and entrepreneurship at The British College

Associate Programme Leader, BBA

Rahul Pareek plays a pivotal role in enhancing the academic journey for BBA students at The British College, ensuring their education aligns with industry needs and standards. With a wealth of experience as a Business Consultant, he has worked with renowned brands across various sectors in Nepal, demonstrating his expertise in business strategy. His diverse experience spans human resources, administration, accounting, finance, and strategic research, giving him a well-rounded understanding of organizational dynamics. Rahul holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of the West of England, Bristol, UK, combining academic insight with practical business acumen. This positions him as a key leader in driving innovation and excellence in business education at TBC.

Advisor on Educational Practices Strategic Consultancy for Sustainability

Professor Mary Bishop serves as a distinguished advisory member of The British College's Sustainability Unit, contributing her extensive expertise in education and consultancy. With a prolific career that includes authoring over 15 books and serving as the Former Director of Learning for ACCA Global, Professor Bishop is a recognized leader in global accountancy education. Her exceptional contributions to the field were honored in 2016 when she was awarded Honorary Chartered Accountancy status.

In addition to her advisory role at TBC, Professor Bishop holds a diverse portfolio of roles, including Non-Executive Director positions and national regulatory roles in the UK. She leads a successful commercial and education consultancy and has been a Commissioner on the UK All-Party Think Tank. Her insights are further informed by her position on the Council of the British Accreditation Council.

Advisor on Climate Education and Research

Dr. Deepak Aryal is a distinguished climatologist and the Head of the Central Department of Hydrology and Meteorology at Tribhuvan University, Nepal. With nearly three decades of experience, Dr. Aryal has made significant contributions to the study of extreme weather events, air pollution dynamics, and mountain meteorology. His extensive research has been recognized globally, with over 35 scholarly publications in leading international journals.

Dr. Aryal is also an Academician at the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) and has presented his work at prestigious international conferences. His leadership in hydrology and meteorology has shaped the next generation of climate scientists, fostering an environment of academic excellence at Tribhuvan University.

Currently serving as the Senior Vice President at Indorama Ventures, a global leader in the petrochemicals industry, Harsha spearheads numerous sustainability initiatives that aim to reduce the environmental impact of the company’s operations. He plays a pivotal role in developing and implementing strategies focused on recycling, carbon reduction, and advancing circular economy practices within the industrial value chain.

In his advisory role at the TBC Sustainability Unit, Harsha leverages his industry knowledge to help guide the college's sustainability programs, particularly in fostering industry partnerships and embedding sustainable business practices into the curriculum.
